Spring Cleaning is a Workout

Today was a great day. Danny didn't get in until this morning at 3am so we reschedule so she could sleep. I was rather excited because I got to clean.
I got to spring cleaned my master bathroom and closet!!! When I spring clean I crazy clean... scrub everything, wash windows, blinds, walls, light bulbs, putty any holes, dust, clean out and organize drawers & cupboards, etc...
AND I still went to the gym for my cardio. It was only 40min on the elliptical before my back really started aching (probably from the bending and cleaning), but it was something.
I am so worn out tonight after ALL that. I'm ready for a movie with my family and bed.

Food
Breakfast: french toast
Snack: none. I get working and don't eat. I learned that even though I may not be hungry I still need to
eat so I'm not too hungry come lunch.
Lunch: pot roast chicken. potatoes, onions and some bbq sauce
Snack: pb & honey with some multi grain crackers, an orange
Dinner: our crock-pot, I believe, is dying. It was on high for an hour and still not extremly hot. Arg.
Dinner wasn't going to be done in time so we had to pick something up. I had a Cafe Rio salad. I
was in a dilemma as to if I should have the creamy dressing with it, my favorite. I rationalized it by
thinking it would be a treat for me, but I knew I shouldn't. Thankfully, Mark remembered that I was
not able to have any creamy based dressings thus he got me the vinaigrette. I had no choice. My
guilt was gone. Yea! He's the best. I did have a whole wheat tortilla though. I have been VERY
hungry in the mornings; I hope this helps curb it.
Snack: pb (I'm outta protein shake)

Smaller Clothes Don't Lie

I have all this week to catch up on but those posts will have to be added in later. It was a great week... Here is yesterday's & todays for now.

Sat. January 29th 2011
Smaller clothes don’t lie.  As clothes get bigger, we rationalize, they may have just stretched out and/or lost their shape but clothes that were once too small are a different story...
Today was a busy day of cleaning.Yeah! Bday parties & the General Primary Pres came to speak.
But the best part of today was trying on old clothes. I have 3 skirts which I wore a few years ago (one was to my sister-in-laws wedding). I tried them on only a few weeks ago and they were still too small and tight around my thighs and stomach area, but I at least got them zipped up, at the time, which was improvement.
We had a wedding to go tonight. A long-time family friend’s wedding and I wanted to look good. I don’t know what possessed me to try those skirts on again but I did. AND THEY FIT!!!!!!!!! Not only did they fit but they fit comfortably!!!!!
AMAZING what even a few weeks can do!!!!
Also I couldn’t stop playing with my wedding rings. Sliding them on and off with little effort. They are my skinny judge. Haha
Great Day!
Sun. January 30th 2011
If my black skirt fit last night, this morning, I wondered if my orange flowery skirt fit too. YUP!!!! I am soooo excited. I had to call my parents and brag! Then I had to tell my close friends while at church. Is it prideful to boast about things like this? I am proud of myself and the changes happening…but is it bad to talk about it? I always wonder what my friends think too. Are they jealous (those who are trying to lose as well)? Do they think I’m prideful? Or may be they don’t even really care? Hmm… I like to think they are excited. Those I told today seemed genuinely excited for me.
I got to wear the skirt to church today. I think it was cute. Nice plain white shirt, orange skirt, and fitted jean jacket. I even wore my silver square earrings. I haven’t worn those for years. They never seemed to look good; they framed my face wrong. However they looked awesome today!!! It was so fun; I didn’t even care that I hadn’t shaved my legs, haha.
Even Bro. Browning said I was “looking good and had the whole blond hair thing going”. Hehe. It may sound weird, to other people, to have another (older) guy saying that but if it had been anyone else it would have been creepy. Yet, Bro B_ is like… a father? No.… I don’t know. Anyway, I love him and his wife! They are awesome people.
I’ve probably said this before but I am always reminded how much I have wanted to stop this program/training/food/etc. I see so many people start things, lose a lot of weight, everyone notices and then they stop.. Never finishing. Never quite getting to the finish line. Why? Do we just get proud of ourselves for what we have accomplished and say that’s good enough? Do we think it takes too long? Maybe all of the above.
Whatever the reason may be, we can’t stop. Times like this I see flashes of The Biggest Loser scenes when contestants talk about how they would be so close to finishing something but were too scared. Never quite going all the way. I thought, “I’m not like that at all.” “I’m not afraid to finish.” Now I wonder… Maybe I am...
When trying to getting back on track after our trip, I felt like I had already accomplished a lot. Why do I need to continue? It would be so easy to stop. Yet, I KNEW I couldn’t. I pushed myself to get motivated again. It was an out of body experience, having to force myself to keep going. I don’t know how else to explain it. Even today, after hitting it hard again, I still have to remind myself to NOT STOP. What’s that line from movies?… ‘M-u-s-t--K-e-e-p--G-o-i-n-g.’ Pres. Shields once said (refereing to the NLV stake), “We do things because they are difficult not because they are easy.”
My how time flies. That’s something else I have noticed. When you are told it may take a whole year to lose all the weight it seems sooo far off, however when looking back the time went by soo fast! I can’t believe that I have been training with Danny for over 6months already! Crazy!
One last thing, after all that I have been through with this back issue I feel eternally grateful for so many blessings. The song today really touched me.. “Because I have been given much I too must give.” What can I do to give back?
Food
Breakfast: french toast
Snack: handful of dried apricots & cashews
Lunch: chicken salad sandwich w/ pickles, mushrooms, garlic granules, pepper, onion powder, mayo, a few dried cranberries, mustard on a whole wheat bread. (I know I wasn’t suppose to have my fat yet but I did)
Snack: chicken salad mix w/ 5 large multi grain crackers.
Snack: dinner was way late. I had ~1Tbs pb & some honey
Dinner: Chicken salad mix
I had way too much fat today. No more.
I’m not sure what my weight will be like tomorrow but I am excited to find out what my measurements are.

Food. Food. Food. Plan. Plan. Plan.

I finally remembered to write the 2011 and not 2010 haha.
After every training session or gym time I always feel, “That was good. Now for a rest and then I need to do more.” I keep feeling I need to do MORE! When I’m actually doing a lot. It’s my FOOD that I need to do more with!! I don’t want to be the one who is given slack because I can’t hack it. I feel like that is where Danny is at with me right now. I don’t blame her either.
We talked today and I told her I knew the “more” needs to be my food. She looked at my food I sent last night and mentioned I tend to grab little things. Though them alone are not that bad but I do it a lot. Also she joked about my bread thing again but I know that is an issue as well; she’s just too nice to yell at me about it. :o/ I promise will only buy whole wheat bread from now on….
I CAN DO THIS AND I WILL DO THIS NOW! I HAVE to focus on food this week. That is my goal. Food. Food. Food. Oh I should say GOOD food haha, but that is a given. I am going to do a meal plan for the week AND stick too it. I don’t know why it’s so hard for me. I still need to finish my essay on why… So I will attach my meal plan to this entry.
Food
Breakfast: ~40g of sprouted wheat bread, 3 egg white & 1 egg, 1Tbs syrup
MM Omega, Multi, C, Glutamine, L-Carnitine
Snack: ~30g carb of pita bread baked chips & 2 scoops protein w/ Glucosamine
Lunch: brown rice & lentil chicken soup
MM Omega & L-Carnitine
Snack: berry protein shake (2 scoops), in between my cardio and weights
Snack: I am starving after my workout. 1c applesauce, 2 scoops protein shake (interesting combo of chocolate
         applesauce)..
Dinner: Salad, cabbage, 2 Tbs balsamic vinaigrette. I am so frustrated because I made some ground chicken for my salad
however, every bite I took had hard pieces of something in it, like bones. It was so bad it was uneatable. So I ended up
with a protein shake (2 scoops)
Snack: 2 scoops protein shake, MM Glucosamine, MM Omega, Glutamine
Workout
*Deep lunges down and back to stretch hip flexers
*Side squats down and back
*Plank on hands and press into downward facing dog & back, 30times
*Wide feet with hands on the ground; squatting with a flat back & head forward, then down to head down butt up., 30 times
They seemed fairly easy but as soon as she had me make sure my bum was back more, to protect my knees, then I
       found they hurt.
Rest. Next time it was 40 times each
*Squats. One leg on a bench behind you (flat part of the top of your foot on the bench) hands on head and squat down.
Make sure you are far enough in front of the bench. Also I had to be reminded to keep my chest up; don’t lean forward.
It took concentration. 12 reps of 3 sets each leg
*Forward lunge into a backward lunge is one, 10 times each leg. I hated those.
*Next set was with a weighted ball (4lbs?) in the same hand as the lunging leg. Straight arm up into the air; other arm
straight out to the side. 10 each leg
*Next set was with a thrust. As you lunge you bring the ball down to your chest and back up when you stand. 10 each leg.
I was so dizzy with these. I asked her, “Can I cry now? Haha” I think she liked that. :oD
*Laying on my chest on the inclined bench I did flies; one normal and then turned my hands like the direction of riding
a bike. One each is one. 5lbs, 12 reps, 3 sets. In between sets I did…
*Crunches where you sit on your bum, lean back on your hands and put your legs out then bend knees as you bring them
in to your chest. They started hurting my back so the next set was a mixture of different crunches.
Overall it was a good session. She’s going to weigh me on Wed and I better be at 209lb. If not I have to do stairs until I reach it. 10 stairs, weigh… 210.8lb. 10 more stairs, weigh… lol.
Well lunch is almost done and then it’s off to the gym in a ½ hr. Cardio & then weights with Mom.
Workout 2
Cardio
*Stairs fat burner, level 5, 12min x3! Plus extra 4mins at level 1? Total of 40min
*After weights I had time to do another 10min on the elliptical.
Weights
~40min, same as what we did this morning, only not quite as much because my mom wants to be able to walk tomorrow at
     work.
*Deep lunges down and back to stretch hip flexers
*Side squats down and back
*Plank on hands and press into downward facing dog & back, 30times
*Wide feet with hands on the ground; squatting with a flat back & head forward, then down to head down butt up., 30 times
We did not do the 40 times
*Squats. One leg on a bench behind you. 3 sets of 12 each leg.
*Forward lunge into a backward lunge is one, 10 times each leg.
We didn’t do the other lunges.
*Flies like earlier followed by
*Lateral raises 7.5lb, 12 reps, 3 sets
Sorry this is so squished, but it was the only way to fit it...
