I have had an emotional roller-coaster of a day and it’s only 10am. I started out with yelling at my kids (I’m sorry kiddos) and so angry… to listening to an audio book, and crying because it was so cool (Tennis Shoes Among the Nephites Series: Tower of Thunder)… to laughing so hard while talking with Danny & Nate… and being excited again about pushing myself as far as I can go in the Challenge.
Danny told mr that Jen, MM store owner, text her and excitedly asked if I was going to be the next Korie or Debb. If she wants to be. :oD Really? Could I really surpass them? Could I win? Danny hasn’t come out and said it, but I think she might have high hopes.
Today she gave me 35lbs for an inclined bench press. AHHHH! Really? I honestly tried but I couldn’t even get them up for one haha. I gave in and said I needed less :o( (haha) I think that has been a first. Hey, there are firsts for everything (well, almost everything) lol. So we did the 25lbs again. I really struggled with it today because I am still sore from Monday AND I was dumb enough to do them yesterday as well. But I made it. I did 3 sets? Or maybe it was 4, of 15 reps. I got scared a couple of times, that I was going to drop them on myself. Stitches and a scar would look great on my final photos, lol. I was shaking.
She said that the inclines are easier than the flat but they were still way hard... I was shocked when she said that I motivated her when she was doing them herself yesterday. She would normally give in and only do 12 but she still had a little in her and thought “if Rachel can do it?” :oD Really? I inspired someone? Cool.
I still couldn’t believe that I was stronger than her on the rows. She said that when I lose the weight she better watch out and get her “Rocky moves/training on” because I will be stronger than her since I am already strong. That will be the day, haha.
Something else exciting… we also got talking about new clothes and she said she was excited to go shopping with me! Woohoo! That would be fun! She’s “stylish” haha & has good taste. (“The both of us will be singing a duet together.” “How redundant.”… Name that movie…) I’m so plain & boring. It will be fun.
Overall, it was a great training session today… Oh and we will probably be planning a laser tag game for this weekend. Wahoo!
Oh AND something else I noticed that was nice was that I wasn’t as tired today! I even came home ready to clean my house!!! I know the Carnitine is what has made the difference. I didn’t take any yesterday; that’s probably why I was so dang tired. I just don’t want to get addicted to it and feel that I need it to workout…. Hmmm, could that happen?

Food
Breakfast: egg sandwich, 3 whites, 1 egg, mustard, slice of cheese, bread
MM omega 3, MM glutamine, MM Creatine, Multi-vitamin, vit-c
Snack: handful cashews, berry protein shake
Lunch: protein shake, pb & honey sandwich,
forgot my MM omega 3
Snack: tuna salad w/ pickle, celery, mayo, Multi-grain crackers,
MM glutamine & glucosamine
Dinner: egg sandwich again I was so tired and hungry I had carbs. I HAVE to have 2 afternoon snacks.
Snack: skip cuz going to bed.
Workout 1
~warm up on Treadmill 3.5 for about 10-15min
~Lunges
Stand and lunge forward, step back into place, lunge at an angle, step back into place, lunge to the side, step back. Think of it as a clock 12, 1:30, 3. 10reps 3 sets each leg.
She was going to have me alternate legs but decided not to because it would “hurt more”. (Like cutting his heart out with a spoon, “because it hurts more you twit.” Name that movie….. )
~Inclined press, 25lbs, 15reps
~Right into body rows on the cables but it was much deeper. I was more angled towards the floor. Scarrryyyy. Haha 15reps. I had to stop around 8 and then 13ish to rest a sec.
~Right into push ups on my toes! As many as I could do. But she wanted at least 5. I didn’t go down very far but she said they were good so I took that. :o) I think I hate them because my back starts aching before my arms do. However, it did pretty good today; I was pleasantly surprised.
Rest 1 min and then again. 3 or 4 sets.
~Pulling jump ups. Similar to the jump overs I have done before on the lat pulled down machine. Where you hold the bar and help pull yourself up but this time instead of going over you just pull up and give a jump with the leg on the bench seat. Make sense?
12 each leg. 3 or 4 sets. I think it was just 3.
Workout 2
Went back to the gym with my mom. I love her! She did so good today. It was her first day doing weights in a very looong time. We did arms since that’s what I did today.
~Bike for 10-15min until my mom got there.
~Punches with the cables, 17.5lbs (should go up next time. Mom did 12lb) single arm while holding other arm out. Followed by
~Bosu ball jump overs, 30, like I did on Monday. I sure hope my mom can walk at work tomorrow, as would I. Rest 1 min. 15reps of punches & 3 sets of all
~Tricep pull downs on the rope cable. Started at 40lb but the next 2 sets were only 30lb. It was a little easy but they didn’t have 35lb (Mom was doing 20lb). Alternating with
~Lat pull downs 85lb the first set & 70 the last two sets (Mom did 50ish?) 15reps, 3 sets
~Circuit of inclined chest press (Mom 15lbs) 25lb only 12 reps because I had already done them today.
~Bicep curls, 17.5lbs 15reps (Mom’s were 10lb)
~Rows, like last week (Mom 15lbs?) 40lb for the first set but it was hurting my back so I went down to 30lb. 3 sets
~Elliptical for 15min until I had to go get the kids from school.
I felt good after until close to dinner when hunger-? and exhaustion hit. I felt good after eating and then hit a wall. I am fighting my way thru writing this so I can get my snack and go to bed. Maybe I will skip my snack and just go to bed….
