Changing Body Internally - Strong Week Ahead

Looking forward to a strong week ahead! I feel like I haven't worked out forever. It's only been since Friday because we had family in town, but we did go swimming.

I feel like I haven't been on here "for-evveerrr" (name that movie). The last couple weeks have been crazy. Sick, camping, stressful & busy. Phew! I should be good now. Looking forward to having a great week this week. Ready to get back on a schedule. With family in town this weekend I thought I would let somethings slide and see how I did... like not eating every 2 hours.... And how did I do???? I was sick most the weekend. LOL I deserve it. I can't believe how much my body has adjusted and changed. I feel so much better when I eat well and regularly. I've learned I can get away with a "cheat" meal once in a while with out feeling like complete crap but over all I don't think I will ever stray from this way of eating for the rest of my life... not because I have to but because I WANT too.. lol that's a scary thought jk.

Well, heading off to a meeting and then some cleaning, swimming and weights today. Have Fun today, everyone!

I so agree! If I don't eat on a regular basis what I'm supposed to eat...my body will tell and it's not a very nice about it! Lol! Jump back in and enjoy the ride! :)

More Insight

Not much to journal today. Getting ready for pic on Friday! Woohoo. That doesn't mean the end of the competition for me, it means I get to eat normal again Lol!

Got my hair cut again, finally, yesterday. The hair dresser just competed in her first figure comp in March, w/ Danny training her. It's amazing ALL the work and dedication that goes into one of those! So many people think, "Oh I can't do one of those. I don't have the right genetics." Whatever! Many of those men/women came from where you are today. It is not that they just were born, do a few exercises and jump on stage! They are crazy dedicated people! I admire those who do them because I don't think I could ever do one, haha, (and I'm fine with that).
Also had a great talk with her, as she gave me some new insight in why I may sabotage myself and not completely finish somethings. More to think about. ;o)

Going for a hard cardio workout this morning then for some final shopping items.

Have an Awesome day!
  • By Ben D on June 23, 2011 12:29pm

It's always the same, whoever you talk to. At one point I was A, then I worked hard, watched what I ate and now I'm at B. Maybe there's something to that???
  • By mikecalhoun on June 23, 2011 9:34am

hard work, dedication, good guidance are key to achieving anything want!! iyou think something is bad for you, then it usually is. ask what is in it, if they cant answer, whoever they are, dont put it in your mouth. a pb sandwich with 1 slice of whole wheat/grain bre every other day would be good. have a good workout!
  • By Zayda on June 23, 2011 8:58am

I can't wait to see your final pix!!! it's going to be awesome! =)
  • By Katie Sutherlin on June 23, 2011 8:57am

If you can capture some insight on sabotage could you send that over to me. I have some huge issues with that myself.
  • By Tanya on June 23, 2011 8:55am

so excited about your pics! Crossfit is having their free classes today through Saturday! 4, 5, n 7 today. 6a, 12p, 4, 5 Fri. 9 am Saturday. Come check it out n tell Jared I sent you. They are not having kids sessions this time. They had to put it on the side burner so they could add more adult classes. Hope to see you there. :)
  • By Donna Jones on June 23, 2011 8:40am

I cannot wait to see your new haircut and your pics!!!! its great to have someone who can guide you and give you some great advice as well. Have fun shopping :)
  • By Christina B. on June 23, 2011 8:39am

You’re right, those competitors have amazing dedication. And you’re right, while genetics can be more on the side of some than others, it’s the hard work and dedication that really puts you over the top. How’s your eating going, no more PB & J sandwiches??? (actually PB & J here and there isn’t gonna kill you!!!)

Proud

I have been very proud of myself and what I have accomplished, over the last year but a few days ago I realized how proud I was of my body. Holy Crap it has changed so much!!! Woohoo! I can't believe it. :oD
AnyWay....

Well, as long as I get ALL my meals in the no carbs thing is going decent. It's not may favorite but I'm doing it... Okay, I missed a meal and was really hungry and grabbed a pb&j sandwich... (My mistake Christina :o) you were right haha)

Did HIIT with swimming the last two days. That has been fun. Does anyone know any other good HIIT workouts that don't include running (I can't run because of my back)?

Get to go get my hair done tomorrow with Katie McCormick. So excited. It really needs a good cut. Don't know what I'm going to do with it yet. I will see what see thinks.

Good night MM peeps! Have a great night! Until tomorrow...

Ps. Another 'small' thing I noticed.. putting my hand on the steering wheel pushes my wedding ring up and there is a large gap between my ring and finger!!! Small things are awesome!!!
  • By mikecalhoun on June 22, 2011 5:41pm

love pnut butter!!! I have one tablespoon a day, it is the small things that makes us notice too!!
  • By Karen Van Dehy on June 22, 2011 5:32pm

You are looking so good, I don't think I would recognize you from your "beginning" photo to now. Way to go you deserve to be proud!!!! And it sure feels good to do your body good, doesn't it? Most of my HIIT involves running of some kind but for awhile I would walk around the gym with high knees and pump my arms around way up high to down at my sides really fast, round and round and round. That gets your heart rate up quickly, too, and then you just drop to a regular walk and then start all over. I did it because of knee problems. And don't forget, some carbs are good and necessary!
  • By Donna Jones on June 22, 2011 7:45am

its the small things that show us our greatest achievements!
  • By DrDiva on June 22, 2011 7:38am

Get some PB2! they have it at MM. Very low fat, tastes great. Good dip for veggies if you like that kind of thing. Also a great "peanutty sauce" with chicken, etc. I won't even go into my wierd Asian food applications!
  • By thall24 on June 22, 2011 7:27am

I am a fan of peanut butter myself. I usually will have 1 tblspn about every other day. Good source of protein and good fats.
  • By Christina B. on June 22, 2011 7:21am

Dope!!!! The “really hungry” gets you EVERY time!!!! Good job being honest with us, and yourself!!! Does the elliptical hurt your back? If not you can get a really good HIIT workout from that also, just set the resistance really high for your “all out” times (I see people going really fast with no resistance, that isn’t doing anything!!).

BTW, I am super proud of you, too!!!
  • By Katie Sutherlin on June 22, 2011 5:48am

Isn't it funny that our jewelry gets loose first. I know my rings and watch are looser.
  • By Erin Keith on June 22, 2011 4:11am

PB&J has definitely been an enemy of mine throughout this comp. I CRAVE IT! Sometimes just a tablespoon of organic peanut butter does the trick!
    Hugs, Clarity & Strength...Erin
  • By KarlCobra on June 22, 2011 3:10am

    Great job!
  • By Ben D on June 21, 2011 10:57pm

You should be proud!!! I had to get my ring resized and a link or two taken out of my watch band. 2 problems I'm happy to say I have
